Jewel of Retribution

"you know, i feel pretty good, but that ain't sayin' much. i could feel a whole lot better, if you were just here by my side to show me how"

I had an insane dream last night.

First, I was watching a movie called "A Day in Wichita." It's not real, but it told the exact story that follows...

There was a young girl, about 17-18, named Kaylee. She was small, with golden blonde hair.*1 I was smitten with her, and she seemed to enjoy my company as well. She was a religious figure of sorts due to the bird sounds found in 'shine on you crazy diamond" by pink floyd. these bird sounds that were featured on 'shine on' were created by a legendary species of birds that links aven animals to the ancient dinosaurs.*2 so somehow, she was important in religious arenas. we went to a party along with dustin and kyle to drink and have a good time. she was wearing a strangely lavish dress, and was the obvious highlight of the party. she had odd things to say, and said them to everyone. the party ended, and Kaylee was escorted home by her maid. after the party (it was breaking day), kyle, dustin, michael j. fox*3, and myself drove to kyle's house. we didn't stay there long, but Blake "Hobbit" Hickman had some booze to give us. After this, I returned to Brown Hall.

While I was sitting in the Brown Stain, I listened to 'shine on' while I tapped on a phone jack. The window was open over in the corner. the bird sounds started sounding, and i joined in with the calls. then, in an instant, a strange bird flew in through the window and landed on my hand. this bird had three distinct colors--blue, white, and black. it's beak was yellow, and it's face was shaped like an owl. overall, though, it was more like a falcon than anything. it stayed on my arm for a while, when someone walked in with my bird identification book. it flew away, and i began searching for the bird in the book. i couldn't figure out what it was, and i'd yet to learn about Kaylee's connection with 'shine on.'

later that evening, Kaylee, her maid, and Dustin came to my room for more good times. Dave was there as well. We were all sitting in respective couples, while Dave was busy working on a project of sorts. I walked to the refrigerator to check on the booze sitting there, and I poured drinks for everyone. We were sitting there, and Kaylee started speaking oddly again.*4 Dave was slightly disturbed by this, so he asked me to follow him outside. i obliged, and before we exited the mystery door, he handed me two cigars. these cigars were probably herbal. i lit them in a stairwell, and an unexpected alarm instantly sounded. i threw the cigars, and we ran back to my room. Kaylee was extremely frightened, so I attempted to calm her. this was thwarted by a loud knock at the door. it was Sleeper, the RA. luckily, after the alarm went off, i dumped all the booze. he asked about the alarm, and I said I didn't have a clue. he seemed very distraught, and he left. everything seemed tainted by a black shadow. i heard a commotion in the hall, so i decided to check it out.

when i went to the hall, there were many people. everyone seemed nervous and scattered. i heard someone speaking from a doorway, so i approached curiously. when i arrived i realized it was a preacher. i figured these guys must have been the cause of the strange alarm. he started speaking of rebels, and religious figures that were giving the church problems. i saw a figure manifest behind the preacher. the preacher said "i have the ultimate tool to deal with these blasphemers." since i was already angry at the preacher for denouncing Kaylee, this talk didn't help. i approached the preacher and began beating him unmercifully. once i was sure he was dead, the figure behind approached. it was Jesus Christ himself. He started talking about his new plan, and that everything written and translated in the bible was just an old idea. he'd "changed his mind." i was furious, so i beat him down too. he died, then something bizarre happened. everyone died, and everyone had black holes for eyes. they got up and walked as if living. Jesus looked particularly eerie.

I was pretty scared. I left the hall and returned to my room. Kaylee was still there, but the others had left. She told me how sorry she was for getting me involved. Apparently she had summoned the preacher, and was at war with Christianity. 'shine on' played, and she began to age uncontrollably. she died right there, and i was left alone with the eyeless minions of Dead Jesus.

then I awoke....

*1 - I've never met this girl, and she isn't similar to anyone I know. I'm not sure how my brain made her up.
*2 - there are no bird sounds in 'shine on' at all. this is another thing my brain made up
*3 - michael j. fox is standing in for a mystery person. dustin suggested i use this guy to replace the blank figure.
*4 - i wish i could remember what she said. it was the scariest part of the dream, but it didn't seem to make me love her less in the dream.

Yes, it's a fucked up dream. I'm not the anti-christ or a violent psychopath, but i can't censor my brain.

Where the Rainbow Goes

The weekend was fun. The Consumers Of wrote some new tunes--hopefully you'll hear them soon.

I just saw my last post, and I have no clue what I was on about. I was really drunk. Dustin and I put down two cases of beer and a half gallon of booze.
